Ski Gear

With so many great options on the market, it can be intimidating to pick out the right ski. Here at Alpin Haus, our staff attends multiple demo’s every year to test the skis we are selling. This, combined with several ski clinics held by our vendors, gives us knowledge to confidently select the skis that are right for you. For you to pick the ski that works best for you, there are a few different aspects to consider. One of the most important will be your skill level. Picking a ski that is closest to your skill level will drastically improve your stability and control on the mountain. Skill level corresponds very closely with the flex, waist width, length and type of skiing you will be doing. Beginners will want a more flexible ski while advanced riders will go with a stiffer ski because soft skis are more forgiving when a mistake is made. Waist width of a ski is also very important in finding a ski. A person wanting to ride in deep snow will want a wider ski than someone looking to do fast tight turns down groomed trails. With so many technical aspects it is always best to consult your local ski shop to get their help in finding the perfect ski for you.
